those 7 days of manali and leh

"Do u know if u take 3 days leave you'll get 9 days holidays "… it all started with these few lines.

I did some calculations and just called up Nitesh(will give intro of all the guys later) and asked him to plan something.

After few initial thoughts of river rafting, para gliding and all finally we decided to go for our journey of life time..

Still we needed some 7-8 mates to start our dream trip..

Just checked up my phone contacts for finding some more trip mates..

And thus starts our journey

The gang of seven:

Me and nitesh started the thread and now I had to take initiatives for convincing ppl for the trip…

The First person that came into my mind was Tufan, who is in gurgaon these days.. And without much discussion he was ready for the trip.

Then I tried to contact my college mates and finally kunal was ready.. While in pune I had come to know sumit through mandy… man with karisma… so thought of giving it a try and it clicked he was ready and told one of his friend is also ready

Then comes
Anna.. The rajni of mumbai..

So I started from hyd on Friday 25th reached delhi in the afternoon..
Headed towards my sis's place.. There I enjoyed my bong connection for a while..

Saturday morning started for niteshs place…. Nitesh had already booked ticket for manali for 5 of us and sumit and ravi were supoosed to join us In manali only.

Around 730 our bus left for manali..
Almost everyone except me was busy talking or sleeping… (I was busy on phone and fring :P)
Around 11 we realized that we hadnt had dinner and now its very difficult to talk normal with no food. All of us started cursing the driver in mother tongue… finally around 1130 we had a halt for dinner.. Near ambala some HP govt restaurent… started with reluctence but the food tasted like we never had before.. Veg buffet and it was simply awesome that too in just 100 rs…

In the morning we already had moved into the valley… towards the valley of gods.
Had some tea-coffee around 630..

And then we started counting the time…

Got few glimpse of the river Beas…
vipasha as it used to be known in indian mythology.. Is one of the five rivers which gave Punjab its name..
Theeastern most boarder of alexander the great..
Around 830 the baby infront of me Started crying like anything.. "Mummy mujhe ab nahi jana hai humlog yahin utar jaate hain " and all…

All of a sudden I felt like my stomach is just taking some turns and I started feeing uneasy…
And then Puke puke puke.. My chest just burst out..

Finally we reached the place of god Manu around 11..
The mythology goes like..

sage Manu stepped off his ark in Manali to recreate human life after a great flood had deluged the world

Tried contacting Ravi and Sumit.. And as usual what happens with everyone happened with us also. Could not connect to them and fiinally we decided we ll book hotels by our own.. And just after we gave the advance they called us and told that they have already booked hotel for us also :P

Just took showers and started roaming around..
In the afternoon we started looking for cab arrangement to leh.. After couple of negotiations we finally booked a quallis for 9k..

In the evening we left for the vyasa darshan ..

The long slender deodar trees… just the way we had read in the books..
And then the musical flow of river beas..

Such is the beauty of Beas and Himalaya together that we spend almost 1 hour just sitting on the rocks and clicking…

Then we decided to go for temple visit..
The epic Mahabharata has always been part of our life,, but never gave a damn to some characters like Hidimba.. A "Rakhashi" by birth and finally married to giant Bhima.
We saw Amar singh there.. And believe me.. Sometime when you see some ppl live after watching almost daily in TV its not so easy to recognize..it took us too a couple of minutes before we realised it

Had dinner and some daaru party.... Just went for the sleep dreaming the mall road malls…

Then comes the d day… surprisingly everyone was ready before 530 and had to wait for the qualis..

The journey started just along the river vyas.. Sun rise amidst the great himalayas.
The golden rays just added to the beautiful snow capped mountains.
